Forrest – Colin S. Thomsen, 37, of Forrest, passed away at 2:49 pm, October 3, 2026, at his residence.
His funeral will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Chatsworth United Methodist Church. Barb Schlatter will be officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9-11:00 am, Saturday, October 10th, at the church.
Memorials may be made to Emily Sargeant, for the Benefit of Colins Children established at First State Bank of Forrest.
Colin was born July 20, 1989, in Pontiac, the son of Scott Thomsen and Vicki (Hurt) Brand.
Surviving are his father of Chatsworth; his children, Parker Sargeant, Lynnleigh “Sis” Thomsen, Alton “Bear” Thomsen, and Beckham “Rooster” Thomsen; mother of his children, Emili Sargeant; mother figure, Lisa Lowery, of Chatsworth; siblings, Josh (Nikki) Brand of Elkville, Brittni (Devin) Gerdes of Chatsworth, Sierra (Logan) Overbey of Gibson City, Randi (Jeremy) Schaffer of Pontiac, Kelli (Raymond) Beck of Chatsworth, and Dan (Leslie) Lowery of Fairbury; nieces and nephews, Chloe Brand, Ryland, Reis, Tori, and Audrey Hartman, Kyler and Maddex Eden, Stella Gerdes, Sophia, Leigha, Scarlett, Lane, Leslie, and Sarah Overbey, Henry, and Tobin Schaffer, Charlie Beck, and Micah Lowery; great-nieces, Zhori and Zhoee Murray.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vicki Brand; father figure, Randy Lowery; maternal grandparents, Geneva and Junior Hurt; paternal grandparents, Betty and Bob Thomsen; his best friend, Michael Harms and several aunts and uncles.
Colin last worked as a Union Painter for RP Coating and previously worked as a carpenter for Pogue.
He was a very talented leather worker as a hobby and built beautiful furniture from scratch.
He was loving father to all his children and from the day Parker came in his life, Parker was loved as one of his own.
Colin enjoyed music and felt his feelings and expressed himself through that music. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors.
He was an avid White Sox fan so wear your White Sox gear to the services.
His competitive and fun personality allowed him to NEVER get beaten in a game of Mario Kart.
To know Colin was to love. Colin also brought a smile and bright light to the room. He will be loved and missed by all his family and friends.
