Connie Marie Maubach Dassow, 74, Chatsworth, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 4, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Her celebration of life will be 10:00am, Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the United Methodist Church of Chatsworth with Pastor Deb Honegger and Barb Schlatter officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4-7:00pm, Friday, May 8, 2026, at the United Methodist Church, Chatsworth and 9-9:45am, Saturday also at the church.

Connie was born November 10, 1951 in Pontiac, IL to Leo Francis Maubach and Arlis Mae Haab Maubach. She was preceded in death by her parents and former spouse, Warren Red Ulitzsch. She married Duane Allen Dassow on July 23, 1982 in Chatsworth. Survivors include her husband Duane of 43 years, Chatsworth; daughter Michelle Lee (Brent) Cordes, Farmer City; son John Allen (Megan) Dassow, Chatsworth; and son Joseph Edmund Dassow, Chatsworth. She will be forever remembered and loved by her grandchildren Douglas Kramer, Kolby Kramer, Trista Kramer, and Wyatt Dassow. She will be dearly missed by her siblings Larry (Regenia) Maubach, Edward (Angie) Maubach, Karen (Mick) Branz, Diane (Gerry) Groskreutz, Ronnie (Karen) Maubach; sisters-in-law Diane Osman and Marilyn Dassow; brother-in-law Neil (Joy) Dassow; and all of her nieces and nephews, and extended family.

Connie graduated high school from Forrest Strawn Wing in 1969, and from the Tuley School of Beauty Culture in Champaign. She owned and operated Connie’s Beauty Shop from 1972 to 1982. She was a paraprofessional in the Prairie Central Community School Unit #8. Connie was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church of Chatsworth. She served as a Sunday School teacher and contributed to numerous committees and events, including Vacation Bible School, the Fall Bazaar, the annual free Thanksgiving Dinner, and Walk to Emmaus. She also coordinated American Red Cross community blood drives in Chatsworth for 25 years.

Connie was a quiet doer. Her kind and generous acts included providing meals, sending cards, giving rides to appointments, and being a peaceful presence to those in need. She loved to laugh and could dish it out as well as take it, especially with her family. Holidays were always at Connie and Duane’s, filled with laughter, chaos, good food, and fun. Connie will be remembered for her unwavering faith, devotion to her church, and deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren.
