Obituary
Cora Elizabeth Sechrest, 83, Chenoa died 1:18am Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Friday, June 29, 2007 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa with the Rev. Paul Gray and Rev. Eugene Gray officiating. Burial will be at Chenoa Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa.
Mrs. Sechrest was born December 23, 1923 at Robinson, IL. The daughter of John Rollen and Nellie Reynolds Minor Crum. She married Donavan Sechrest on December 30, 1941 at Palestine, IL. He died August 19, 1977.
Surviving are her children: Roland (Glenda) Sechrest, Clairmont, FL, Donna (Dale) Hanna, Chenoa, Paul Sechrest, Champaign, Sharon (Rev. Jim) Farney, Frankfort, IN, Wilma Sechrest, Marvin (Bonnie) Sechrest, both of Chenoa, and Myrna (Quentin) Huette, Fairbury. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by two brothers and seven sisters and one infant son.
Mrs. Sechrest was a homemaker, had been employed as a cook at Livingston Manor and was a daycare provider who had tremendous love for her children. She was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, Bloomington, taught Sunday school, the church secretary and reporter. She also served Missionary President for many years. Her hobbies included canning and gardening.
The family suggests memorials be given to the Pilgrim Holiness Church, Bloomington or the American Diabetes Association.
