Obituary

Dallas G. Wendling, 70, of Chenoa passed away at 4:20 pm, Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at OSF St. James – John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac, IL.

His funeral service will be 10 am, Saturday, October 31, 2009 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chenoa with Pastor Jerry Koch officiating. Burial will follow in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday, October 30, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa.

Dallas was born November 19, 1938 in Pontiac, the son of Carl and Lila (Rhoda) Wendling. He married Mary Tibbs on February 6, 1971 in Pontiac. She survives in Chenoa. His parents preceded him in death.

Also surviving are one son; Adam (Mindy) Wendling, Tremont, one daughter; Amy (Jason) Woodrey, Chenoa, five sisters; Mary Dohleman, Fairbury, Lois (Donald) Morris, Chenoa, Phyllis Reeves, Normal, Sharon (Bill) Barrett, Chenoa, Ellen Jo (Roger) Shiflett, Chenoa, nine grandchildren; Gabbi, Andrew, Emily, Lucas and Cooper Wendling, Jacob, Joshua, Jenna and Julianne Woodrey.

The family suggests that memorials be directed to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chenoa, and Tremont United Methodist Church or the charity of donor's choice.

Dallas was a lifetime farmer in the Chenoa area and was employed for over 25 years at RR Donnelley & Sons, Pontiac. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Evangelical Church, Chenoa and the Pontiac Elks Club. His grandchildren were the joy of his life and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
