Obituary
Daniel Hodges, 85, Fairbury, died at 8:58pm Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Asta Care Center, Pontiac.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Hudson Cemetery, Hudson with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating. Full military rites will be accorded. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Hodges was born September 9, 1926 in Avoca Twp., Livingston County, IL the son of Chris and Teresa Marie Dickerson Hodges. He married Helen Darlene Price on August 3, 1952 in Hudson, IL. She survives in Fairbury.
Other survivors include one daughter, Candace (Loren) McDugle, Chenoa, IL, one son, Danny Hodges, Hudson, IL, one granddaughter, Lisbeth Hodges, Mahomet, IL, two sisters, Jeanette Zajac, Ft. Collins, CO, and Shirley Wilson, Opelika, AL.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Lee Hodges.
Mr. Hodges served in the Army Air corps during WWII and later reenlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He later operated Hicksatomic Gas Station, Fairbury and worked at the Fairbury Water Department retiring in 2000.
He was a member of the VFW post #9789 and the John Joda American Legion post #54, both in Fairbury, El Paso VFW post #6026, and the Pontiac Amvets.
The family suggests memorials be directed to the Fairbury Fire Department or South Eastern Livingston County Ambulance Service.
