Obituary

David W. Hall, 70, of Forrest, passed away at 12:05am, April 1, 2013 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa, IL.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Friends may greet the family for a celebration of his life from 1-3:00pm, Friday, April 5, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

David was born October 22, 1942 in Metropolis, IL; the son of Otis and Lula Rye Hankins. He married Tina Franklin on July 10, 1982 in Pontiac. She survives in Forrest, IL.

Also surviving are his daughter, Marilee (Dan Rogan) Hall of Chandler, AZ; son, Dale (Susan) Hall, granddaughter, Jennifer Hall all of Glenview, IL; brother, Jim (Jewel) Hankins of Parrish, AL; sisters, Ellen (Jack) West and Gloria Keith both of Mulberry, AR, and Dorothy Hankins of Benton, IL; sister-in-law, Cindy Hankins of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ernie Hankins, and one sister, Alice Manning.

David worked in quality control for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Pontiac. Dave loved NASCAR, Golf, the St. Louis Cardinals, country music and old westerns. Dave enjoyed a long happy retirement, camping, traveling and working outside. He had a special place in his heart for his two dogs, Zeus and Dillon and driving his Dodge truck. He loved dearly his wife, children, granddaughter and a good cocktail with friends. Dave was known for working hard and playing hard!
