Obituary

Colfax – David Lage, 68, of Colfax, passed away at 10:00am, August 3, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his wife and children whom have been with him through his battle with cancer.

Funeral will be held at 11:00am, Friday, August 8, 2014, at Lexington Community Church. Pastor Bill Brown will be officiating.

Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax following a luncheon at the church.

Visitation will be held from 4-7:00pm, Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Business casual attire is requested for visitation and funeral.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for his sons, Geoffery and Gaige Lage, established at Anchor State Bank.

David was born March 30, 1946 in Normal the son of Leo W. and Dorothy F. Stroh Lage.

David was married to Debra Dukes and Jean Rosecrans.

He then married Brenda Kilpatrick on October 13, 2000.

Surviving are his parents, wife Brenda; children, Casey (Ann) Lage of Colfax, Kristi (Phillip) Followell of Hudson, Geoffery and Gaige Lage both at home; stepchildren, Laura Fuller, Eric Fuller, Chris Reiman, and Shaun (Karen) Reiman; grandchildren, Brandon Lage, Julia Reiman, and Malorie Reiman; uncle, Don Stroh; niece, Jennifer (David) Williams; nephew, Christopher (Denise) Hester; mother and father-in-law, Bob and Etta Kilpatrick of Ava; brothers-in-law, Randy Kilpatrick, Lester Kilpatrick both of Ava, Roger (Kim) Kilpatrick of Murphysboro, Carl (Tina) Kilpatrick, Everett (Anna) Kilpatrick both of Ava, Ed Childers of Oraville, and John (Pam) Hester of Saybrook; sister-in-law, Beth (Jason Clinton) Berry of Ava; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and David's beloved dog Pearl.

He was preceded in death by sister, Linda Hester and sister-in-law, Linda Childers.

David graduated from Octavia High School in 1964. He then served with the United States Army from 1967-1969.

He has been a lifelong farmer in the Lexington and Colfax area and was a Pfister Seed salesman.

He was a member of the Lexington Community Church, NRA, Davis-Kerber American Legion Post, McLean County Farm Bureau, and Sound of Illinois Chorus.

David was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His loyalty to his wife, children, and friends will be greatly missed.
