Obituary
Fairbury: David Neal Sechrest, 60, Fairbury died at 5:30am Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at his residence, Fairbury.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm Friday, December 22, 2006 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with the Rev. Robb McCoy officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 to 6:00pm Friday at the memorial home. Inurnment will take place at Mazon Cemetery.
Mr. Sechrest was born December 26, 1945 at Morris, IL. The son of Earl Sylvester and C. Maurine Russell Sechrest. He married Juliann Petersen on June 9, 1968. She survives at Tucson, AZ. He then married Patricia Convis on November 24, 2006. She survives at Fairbury, IL.
Also surviving are 3 daughters: Laura (Manuel) Herrera, Rio Rancho, NM, Lisa (Curtis) Reynolds, Mahomet, IL, and Sarah (Robb) McCoy, Chenoa, IL. Four grandchildren: Mark, Mike & Margarita Herrera and McKayla Reynolds.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Sechrest was a Mazon-Verona-Kinsman H.S. graduate and later received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Illinois State University and continued on to do post graduate work.
He had taught Vocational Agriculture at Fairbury-Cropsey H.S. (1978-1983) and worked in the agricultural business until 2000. Most recently he had been employed as a truck driver.
He was a member of the IOOF lodge, NRA and the Masonic Lodge.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the Conservation Foundation for the Preservation of farmland, 10 S. 404 Knoch Knolls Rd., Naperville, IL 60565
