Obituary

Robert Dean Greenlee, 92, of Anchor, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at his son's home in Oklahoma

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St Jude Children's Hospital

Dean (as he was known by) was born on October 15, 1932, in Bloomington, IL, the son of John and Lilas (Kelley) Greenlee. He married Mary Martin on March 1, 1952, in Anchor, IL

Survivors include his children, David (Judy) Greenlee, Rick (Marj) Greenlee, Doug (Joyce) Greenlee, all of Bloomington, IL and John (Rhiannon) Greenlee of Tecumseh OK; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild due any day now, and a sister Carol Kreitzer

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, a daughter Betty Jean, two great granddaughters, a brother and a sister

Dean served proudly in the Army. In his younger years, he helped several farmers with their field work, also working at Anchor Egg, GE, and made a career at M&W Gear, retiring after several years with them.

He was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, and the Eagles

He enjoyed singing and playing music in several local bands. When he was a young man, his two sisters and him had a band called Rural Strings. All 3 of them played musical instruments in their older years.

Dean did not want any service, only a party with country music. We are having a celebration of life for him on May 17th at the American Legion in Colfax, Il, from 1:00 - 4:00. Memories, food and music will be provided.

Dean was a very easy-going casual guy, so please dress casually.
