Obituary

Dean Laverne Hall, 92, Morton, died at 12:22 pm Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Hopedale Medical Complex, Hopedale.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Fairbury with the Rev. Frank Bozenec officiating. Inurnment will take place in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury at a later date.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 pm Thursday also at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be given to the Hopedale Medical Foundation or the Central Illinois Riding Therapy.

Mr. Hall was born August 24, 1919 in Pitosi Corner, McLean County, IL, the son of Harold and Clella Carter Hall. He married Kathryn L. Hetherington on December 4, 1943 in Cullom, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Judith (Ron) Kruse, Groveland, IL, Deana (William) Hall, Leawood, KS, Doris Hall, Raytown, MO; grandchildren, Dan Hall, Sunrise Beach, MO, Dean (Dr. Ara) Hall, Denver, CO, Lori (Terry) Parkin, Pekin, IL, Leanne Kruse, Groveland, IL, Cindy Kruse, Goveland, IL; great grandchildren, Karis Parkin, Karlee, Parkin, Darren Hall, Alex Hall, Sabrina VanDyke, Jillian VanDyke; great great grandson, Paxton Parkin, two sisters, Edith Smith, Marquette Heights, IL, Shirley (John) Foster, Chenoa, IL, one brother, Ray (Tosi) Hall, Brownsville, TX, one sister-in-law, Joanne Hall, Cropsey, IL.

He is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Rachael Higgins, two sisters, Dorothy Dalton, Doris Busse, two brothers, Darrell Hall, Donald Hall.

Mr. Hall had been a resident of Morton since 1951. He had been employed as a tool and die maker in Kankakee, then Hall's Garage, Cropsey, and later as a welder for Clay Equipment, Morton, Interlocking Fence Co, Morton. He also worked as a shop foreman at Morton Buildings until he became owner and operator of Hall's Sales and Service.

Mr. Hall spent winters in Arizona for many years and was a member of the Bounder Motor Home Club.
