Delma L. Freed, 94 of Fairbury, died 10:59 pm, Thursday, April 4, 2019 at her residence in Fairbury.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will follow in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery, Chenoa.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 pm, Monday, April 8, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran church, Fairbury; and one hour prior to her service on Tuesday also at the church in Fairbury. The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Colfax or Dominy Memorial Library, Fairbury.

Delma was born October 19, 1924, in Colfax the daughter of John and Hannah (Winterland) Petersen. She married William R. Freed on April 9, 1944, in Colfax. He passed away on April 28, 1991.

Survivors include her children, Ronald B. (Debbie) Freed of Fairbury, Brenda L. (Harlan) Geiser of Bloomington, and Denise J. (Robert) Ludwig of Bloomington; eight grandchildren; and,10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one son, Randall G. Freed and granddaughter, Lindsay Weber.

Delma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury for over 70 years, where she served as past Vice-President and President of the church council. Faith, family and farm-life were the center of her life.
