Obituary
Delmar G. Augspurger, 91, Chenoa died at 7:28 am Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at his residence in rural Chenoa.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Meadows Mennonite Church, Meadows with the Rev. Steve Estes and Rev. Mary Ann Moman officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa and 10:00 to 10:45 am Saturday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the BroMenn Hospice or the charity of the donor's choice.
Mr. Augspurger was born February 25, 1917 in Gridley, IL, the son of Emmanuel and Emma Lehmann Augspurger. He married Thelma K. Streid on June 14, 1947 in Meadows. She preceded him in death on February 24, 2002.
Surviving are three sons, Robert (Mary Beth) Augspurger, Donald Augspurger, both of Chenoa; Joseph (Laura) Augspurger, Grove City, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mary Ann Moman, Nashville, TN; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Mr. Augspurger was a 1934 graduate of Chenoa High School and later served in the civilian public service during WWII. After WWII he moved back to the Chenoa area and farmed until 1975. He then was employed as the director of maintenance at the Meadow Mennonite Home until his retirement in 1997. Mr. Augspurger was a member of the Meadows Mennonite Church.
