Denise E. Spence, 54 of Chenoa passed away at her residence in Chenoa at 7:20 am, Sunday, November 15, 2009 with her family by her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Cremation rites have been accorded with a memorial service to be held at 11 am, Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa with Pastor Robb McCoy officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services also at the memorial home in Chenoa. A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
Denise was born December 1, 1954 in Pontiac the daughter of Kenneth and Marian (Ehrhardt) Weber. Her mother; Marian Weber survives in Chenoa. Her father preceded her in death. She married Cliff Spence on July 20, 1984 in Pontiac. He survives in Chenoa.
Also surviving are; one daughter; Carolyn "Carlie" Spence, Chenoa, two step daughters; Carrie (Michael) Melvin and Abbie (Bill) Hummel both of Pontiac, two brothers; Greg Weber, Chenoa, Doug (Theresa) Weber, Pontiac, one sister; Gail (Walt) Kaniuk, Hammond, IN, in-laws; Joyce (Bill) Ashcraft, Pontiac, Sheri (Gary) Moser, Fairbury, Lisa (Kevin) Krones, Gridley, Carl (Lisa) Spence, Chenoa, five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to Chenoa VFW Post #8350 Ladies Auxiliary, Livingston County Humane Society, Pontiac or charity of donor's choice.
Denise was employed for over 20 years at R.R. Donnelley and Sons, Pontiac. She served as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts in Chenoa and was a member of the Chenoa VFW Post #8350 Ladies Auxiliary where she held many offices including past president. She loved her family and spending time with friends and her beloved dog "C.C.". Her courageous spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
