Melvin - Dennis Reid Busing, 64, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at Craig General Hospital in Vinita, OK.

His memorial service will be 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax with Pastor Diane Yentes officiating. There will be a visitation from 5 to 7 pm prior to the service also at the funeral home in Colfax.

Dennis was born on September 28, 1943 the son of Gus and Rachel Jane (Meyer) Busing. On July 22, 1995, Dennis married Becky Hankins at their home in Melvin, IL. She survives in Big Cabin, OK.

Also surviving are six children; Darcy Jones of Gibson City, IL; Tim Busing of Cooksville, IL; Brett Busing (Brandy Keith) of Colfax, IL; Kelly (Forrest) May of Sibley, IL; Kerry Williams of Sibley, IL; and Jackie (Eric) Quinley of Sibley, IL. Additionally he is survived by two brothers; Bentley(Virginia) Busing of Bloomington, IL and Richard Busing of Cadiz, Ky., eight grandchildren, and three very special friends; Matt Bachman of Gibson City, IL, who Dennis always considered as a son; Bud Gee and Charlene Metz, who were both very special and dear friends of Dennis.

Dennis enjoyed the outdoors. He worked with horses, loved farming, and restored old tractors. Dennis even built his house in Big Cabin, OK. He loved his friends, and was often found either helping a friend or playing a trick on them. He was known as a very generous man, and was always ready to lend a hand when called upon. Dennis was an avid stock car racing fan. He enjoyed his family most of all.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
