Dennis Walter Righter, 68, of Fairbury passed away at 9:15 pm Thursday, September 25, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday, September 29, 2008 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:30 to 10:30 am Monday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the OSF Hospice, Pontiac or the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury.
Denny was born February 19, 1940 in Joliet, IL the son of Walter P. and Mary Adelaide Guest Righter. He married Jane Lindenbaum on June 13, 1959 in Forrest, IL. She survives in Fairbury. Also surviving are three daughters, Denise Fogal, Fairbury, Kristi (Robert) Aupperle, Towanda, Lori (Randy) Weber, Fairbury, one brother, James W. (Toni) Righter, Odell, seven grandchildren, Milissa (Ryan) Welborn, Pekin, Matt (Rachel) Aupperle, Gridley, Tess (Dustin) Popejoy, Forrest, Taylor and R.J. Weber, Fairbury, Addie Nussbaum, Fairbury, Jacob Fogal, Fairbury, and one great granddaughter, Ashlyn Welborn.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a twin brother, Donald W. Righter.
Denny was a Saunemin High School graduate. He worked in the trucking industry form 1961-1988 and later owned and operated DWR Services 1990 until his retirement. He was a member of the Indian Creek Country Club and Arrowhead Lodge, both in Fairbury.
Denny loved spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed.
