Diana Jo Schreck, 74, of Naples, FL; formerly of Chenoa; passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at Vitas Hospice in Naples, FL.
Diana's funeral service will be 2 pm, Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa; with Pastor Daryl Evans officiating. Her interment will follow the service in Chenoa Township Cemetery, Chenoa.
A visitation with her family will be 1 to 2 pm on Thursday, prior to her funeral service also at the funeral home in Chenoa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Fairbury or American Cancer Society.
Diana was born April 24, 1944 in Kewanee; the daughter of LeRoy and Lois (Hodgett) Dana. She married James Richard Schreck on June 23, 1963 in Kewanee. Her husband preceded her in death July 1997. Her parents and one brother also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Jo Crouse of Naples, FL; one son, Steven James Schreck of Woodstock, GA; three grandsons, Douglas Alan Crouse, Alan Joe Crouse both of Naples, FL; David Steven Schreck of Woodstock, GA; one brother, LeRoy K. Dana of Shabbona, IL; three sisters, Patricia (Bob) Celus of Annawan, IL; Grace (Bob) Flananagan of Creve Coeur, IL; Linda Dana of Illinois; seven nephews and three nieces.
Diana was loved by many. She worked several years in the school system in Elementary, Middle, High Schools as well as Special needs as a teacher's assistant before working at Caterpillar Inc. She was an avid bowler and loved to travel with family and friends to places such as Europe, Caribbean and Russia. For 3 years she had the pleasure of living in Japan where she really enjoyed their culture.
Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her brother, sisters, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She fought bravely in her battle against cancer.
