Donald L. Hall, 83, of Cropsey, died at 1:41 pm Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City, IL.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, April 18, 2008 at the United Methodist Church, Cropsey with the Rev. Paulette Cott officiating. Burial will be in Cropsey Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
Mr. Hall was born March 23, 1925 in Belle Prairie Twp, IL the son of Harold A. and Clella B. Carter Hall. He married Joan M. Huber on January 1, 1960. She survives in Cropsey.
Also surviving is one daughter, Gina L. (Tony) Aberle, Danvers, IL, three sons, Mark A. (Lisa) Hall, Cropsey, Donald R. (Lisa) Hall and Steve A. (Wendy) Hall, both of Fairbury, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters, Edith Smith, Illinois, Shirley (John) Foster, Chenoa, IL, two brothers Dean (Katie) Hall, Morton, IL and Ray (Toshie) Hall, Texas.
Mr. Hall owned and operated the Shell Service Station, Cropsey for 35 years. In 1978 he started working at Addis Auto Parts, Fairbury until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Cropsey United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Bloomington Consistory and was a charter member of the Cropsey Sportsmen's Club. Mr. Hall formerly served as the Cropsey Township Clerk and was Cropsey's first Fire Chief.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial be given to the Cropsey Fire Department, the United Methodist Church, Cropsey or the Galilean Children's Home, Liberty, KY.
