Obituary
Forrest: Donald L. Herron, 77 of Forrest, IL died at 4:10 pm, Sunday, November 26, 2006 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Fairbury. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury with Pastor Steve Anderson and Rev. Dan Franklin officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:30 to 10:15 am Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Herron was born May 13, 1929 in Curryville, MO a son to John L. and Mary Leda (Henderson) Herron. He married Shirley Rouse in Hannibal, MO on January 23, 1948. She survives in Forrest.
Also surviving are 1 daughter: Connie S. Golladay (former spouse Tom Golladay), both of Fairbury; 1 son: Donald R. (Patricia) Herron, Urbana, 1 brother Emmett N. Herron, Laddonia, MO, 5 grandchildren; Kathy (Gary) Davis, Champaign, Christy (Frank) Deer, Rantoul, Amy (Kenny) Costa, Tolono, Joshua (Rebecca) Golladay, Franklin, NC, Matthew Golladay, Seattle, WA, and 7 great grandchildren.
His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
Don was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairbury, he belonged to Gideons International. and was a former Homer Lions Club member. He was employed by Krogers as a meat cutter for over 40 years until retirement in 1989.
Memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center, Normal, IL or the charity of the donor's choice.
