Donald Keith Johansen, 86, Fairbury, died at 4:32 am Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, October 30, 2017 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Ann Champion officiating.  Burial will be in South Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury with full military rites accorded by the Fairbury VFW and American Legion posts.

Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:45 am Monday at the memorial home followed by a Tarbolton Masonic Lodge service.  The family suggests memorials be given to the Southeast Livingston County Ambulance Service, Fairbury.

Mr. Johansen was born May 22, 1931 in Fairbury the son of John Eugene and Lillian Vera Hallock Johansen.  He married Nila N. Ferguson on May 2, 1975 in Effingham.  She survives in Fairbury.

Other survivors include a step daughter, Victoria Lynn (David) Perreault, Rosharon, TX; step son, Gerald (Fred) Schumacher, Houston, TX; 13 step grandchildren and 26 step great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a step son, Russell L. Miller.

Mr. Johansen was a graduate of Fairbury Twp. High School.  He served in the United States Navy (1951-1955) as part of the Seabees.  After being honorably discharged he served in the reserves until 1959.  Mr. Johansen owned and operated the Fairbury RediMix.  He owned with his father Johansen Drainage and Excavating.  He was a member of the Tarbolton Masonic Lodge #351, Fairbury.
