Obituary

Chatsworth - Donald Eugene Lade, 88 of Chatsworth, died at 9:05 pm, Monday, August 30, 2021 at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal.

Graveside services will be at 2 pm, Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Chatsworth City Cemetery, Chatsworth with full military honors.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church of Fairbury or Lewy Body Dementia Association www.LBDA.org.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, is in charge of arrangements.

Donald was born July 30, 1933 in Morocco, IN, the son of Randolph and Geneva (Dusenberry) Lade.  He married Carolyn Marie Tooley on October 6, 1956 in Pontiac.  She preceded him in death on December 21, 2020. His parents, five sisters, five brothers and one infant daughter, Rusti Lee Lade also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughters, Ronda (Larry) Ellinger of Sherman; Robin (Rick) Hardesty of Bloomington; and Renee (Jay) McDonald of Fairbury; eight grandchildren, Chris (Nikki) Ellinger, Amy (DJ) Washington, Amanda (Noah) Beveridge, Nicholas (Amanda) Ellinger, Kacie (Collen Frost) Hardesty, Mitchell (Liz) McDonald, Tara (Michael) Reiners, Shay McDonald; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty White of Sheldon.

Donald served our country in the US Army from 1953 - 1955.  He was employed as a Supervisor - Designer at Pontiac Chair in Pontiac for over 42 years.  He enjoyed his vegetable and flower gardens and the many birds and squirrels that came to visit.  His quiet nature and loving heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
