Fairbury – Donald Duane Weakman, 86, of Fairbury, passed away at 1:28am, March 18, 2024, at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

Cremation has been accorded. Burial will take place at a later date in the Joliet Arsenal.

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

Donald was born October 10, 1937, in Piper City, the son of John Lewis and Estella (Zeh) Weakman. He married Mary Gaines on May 24, 1969. She survives.

Also surviving are his sons, Matthew (Theresa Benjamin) Weakman of Essex and Daniel (Sharee O'Donnell) Weakman of Dixon; grandchildren, Rory an Mallory Weakman and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ethel (Edward) Rapp, Earl (Janet) Weakman, Calvin (Joy) Weakman, John "Jack" Weakman and  infant sister, Lois Weakman.

Donald was a veteran of the United States Army.

He retired in 2000 from the Physical Plant at Illinois State University as an electrician.
