Doris Jean "Jeanne" Klitzing, 71, Fairbury, died at 2:00 am Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Ed Hudelson officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury.

Jeanne was born August 15, 1944 in Bloomington, IL the daughter of Otho and Eva Cook Barnard. She married Keith B. Klitzing on May 3, 1964 in Chenoa, IL. He died on February 26, 2007.

Survivors include her mother, Eva Barnard, Chenoa; one son, Brian (Jessica) Klitzing, Heyworth; one daughter, Jennifer (Todd) Weber, Chenoa, four grandchildren, Gunnar and Leah Klitzing, Paige and Cole Weber; one sister, JoAnn Bockman, Pontiac, and one brother, Ted (Lyn) Barnard, Chenoa.

She is preceded in death by her father.

Jeanne was a 1962 graduate of Chenoa High School, was an AFS student to Holland and attended Illinois State University. She enjoyed working as a secretary in the (WIC) women, infant and children's department at the Livingston County Health Department developing numerous relationships over the years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury serving as organist and choir director. Jeanne taught piano and organ lessons for many years and was an active member of the Fairbury fire wives
