Obituary
Doris L. White 69, of Fairbury passed away at 4:08 am, Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Asta Care Center, Colfax.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger and the Reverend Stephen Goodwin officiating. Cremation rites will follow the service with a private inurnment in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm, Monday, June 20, 2011 also at the memorial home, Fairbury.
Doris was born June 25, 1941 in Colfax the daughter of Edward and Melba (Hughes) Beecher. She married Roger D. White on January 16, 1960 in Forrest he survives in Fairbury. Her parents preceded her in death.
Other survivors include three daughters, Suzzanne M. (David) McCorkle, Rydal, GA; Cindy Kay (Kevin) Starr, Watseka, IL; Rita L. Roberts, El Paso, IL; one son, Bruce W.(Claire) White, O'Fallon, IL; two sisters, Alice (Harry) Clodfelter, Normal, IL; Carol Ann (Norman) Sutton, Joliet, IL, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be directed to Passages Hospice, Bloomington or American Red Cross, Fairbury Chapter.
Doris was a 1959 graduate of Octavia High School. She was a seamstress for Fairbury Garment for 33 years and later was employed by the Fairbury Blade. Doris was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury.
