Obituary
Dorla M. Decker, 85 of Chenoa formerly of Galesburg died at 9:45 am, Friday, July 10, 2015 at Evenglow Inn, Pontiac.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside inurnment will be held at 11am, Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials be directed to Evenglow Inn, Pontiac or the animal shelter of donor's choice.
Dorla was born on October 29, 1929 in Pontiac; the daughter of Lloyd H. and Lura Belle (Law) Pampel. She married Dean C. Decker on June 5, 1949 at the Graymont Baptist Church in Graymont. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2011.
Survivors include one daughter, Deana Boles (Tom Ruble) of Chenoa; one son: Kenneth (Lee) Decker of Strafford, MO; four grandchildren, Katie (Jacob) Houghton, Emmaline Decker, Christina Boles and Kathleen Boles and one sister, Donna Foard, Reno, NV. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Lloyd W. Pampel and son in-law, Timothy Boles.
Mrs. Decker worked for the Chenoa School district in the cafeteria for many years and later in life she volunteered at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to Evenglow Inn, nurses and staff and the VITAS Innovative Hospice Care for the love and personalized attention given to their Mother and family while receiving their services.
