Dorothy Lucille Bachtold, 95 of Fairbury, passed away at 8:04 pm, Monday, September 27, 2010 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.

Her funeral will be 10 am, Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Apostolic Christian Church of Forrest with the ministers of the church officiating. Burial will follow in South Apostolic Christian Cemetery, rural Fairbury.

Visitation will be 2 to 8 pm, Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall and 9 to 9:45 am prior to services at the church on Friday. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting the family with these arrangements.

Dorothy was born August 29, 1915 in Linwood, MI the daughter of Samuel and Mattie (Yohr) Ramseyer. She married Carl Bachtold on January 16, 1938 in Bay City, MI. He passed away April 21, 1998.

Survivors include her children; Roger (Shirlene) Bachtold, Fairbury; Miriam (Ben) Metz, Francesville, IN, Herbert (Janice) Bachtold, Roberta (Wayne) Broquard, Gloria (Wayne) Drayer all of Fairbury; Samuel (Betty) Bachtold, Roscoe, IL; twenty three grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Ramseyer, one sister, Miriam Wenger and one granddaughter, Tess (Broquard) Crawford.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury or OSF Hospice.

Dorothy served The Lord for almost 80 years and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Forrest, IL. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and entertaining guests. She had an incredible sense of humor and a kind loving spirit.
