Cooksville: Dorothy Dell Caldwell, 91 of Heritage Manor, Colfax formerly of Cooksville died at 12:00 am, Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at Heritage Manor, Colfax.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Friday, August 17, 2007 at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Her funeral service will be 10 am Saturday, August 18, 2007 also at the memorial home in Colfax with Reverend Stephen Goodwin officiating the service. Burial will take place in Heyworth Cemetery, Heyworth.
Dorothy was born July 19, 1916 in Holder, IL, a daughter to William and Edna (Dollard) Sacry. She married Arthur W. Caldwell March 27, 1937 in Decatur. He passed away October 9, 1992
Surviving are three daughters; Nancy (Harold) Willke, Saybrook, Dixie Bounds, Georgetown, FL, Sharon (Charles) Barker, Cooksville, one son; Bill (Cindy) Caldwell, Lexington, three sisters; Phyllis Gemes, Warsaw, MO, Betty (John) Corzine, Sun City Center, FL, Sandy (Bernard) Peterson, Sun City, AZ, one brother; Donald Sacry, Bloomington, sixteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.
Dorothy worked as a waitress for several years and retired from JC Penny, Bloomington. She was a member of the Union Church of Cooksville, NTO of Colfax, HEA of McLean County and a cast member of the American Passion Play for over 50 years.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Heritage Manor, Colfax or Union Church of Cooksville.
