Obituary
Fairbury: Dorothy L. Hammond, 76 of Fairbury died at 5:20 AM, Sunday, June 3, 2007, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center., Peoria, IL.
A memorial service for Dorothy will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 7, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Fairbury with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded with inurnment to take place at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury has charge of arrangements.
Dorothy was born April 13, 1931 in Bloomington, A daughter to Theodore and Myrtle (Cox) Stevens. She married John "Rob" Hammond June 4, 1949 in Bloomington. He died September 16, 1984.
Surviving are 5 sons; Steve (Diane) Hammond, Gary Hammond both of Fairbury, Ron (Kim) Hammond, Jacksonville, FL, Don (Diane) Hammond, Lee's Summit, MO, David (Shirley) Cooper, WA, one sister in-law; Charlotte Hammond, Bloomington, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, 2 sisters and a grandson Chad Hammond.
The family suggests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Fairbury or the charity of the donor's choice.
