Obituary
Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday, September 26, 2017at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury with Ministers of the Church officiating. Burial will follow at the North Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery, Forrest.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00pm Monday, September 25, 2017 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45am Tuesday at the church in Fairbury.
Mrs. Hoffman was born January 22, 1927 in Forrest, a daughter to Alphia and Clara Anna (Heinold) Maurer. Her parents, two brothers, Donald Maurer and Ray Maurer and one sister, Helen Zimmerman preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children: Cheryl (Robert) Kaisner, Paul Mark (Mary Jo) Hoffman both of Fairbury; three sisters, Gladys Koehl of Fairbury; Deloris Thomas of Arlington Heights; Wilma Honegger of Peoria; two Brothers, Howard (Eileen)Maurer of Scottsdale, AZ; Larry (Becky) Maurer of Glendale, AZ; also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hoffman was employed for many years at Stoller-Maurer Construction, Fairbury. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Fairbury. Dorothy loved her family and her soft gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers be directed to the Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Serenity Village, Fairbury.
