Dorothy L. Streid, 98 of Chenoa, died at 1 pm, Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Lincolnshire Place, Loves Park, IL where she resided the last four years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, December 17, 2019 with visitation one hour prior at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa. Burial will follow in Chenoa Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Chenoa United Methodist Church or Chenoa Public Library.

Dorothy was born December 31, 1920 in Fairbury, IL the daughter of Fred and Elva (Myer) Jacobs.  She married Delmar C. Streid on August 14, 1946 in Chenoa.  He preceded her in death on July 7, 2002.  Her parents, son, Delbert Lee Streid, sister, Gwendolyn Jolly, son-in-law, O. David Penicook also preceded her in death.

Dorothy is survived by daughter, Diane Penicook, Champaign; sons Dennis (Mitzi) Streid, Rockford and Daniel Streid, Chenoa; daughter-in-law Dianne Streid, Tallahassee, FL; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Dorothy was a 1938 graduate of Chenoa High School.  She graduated from Lincoln Jr. College, attended ISNU and taught school in Cissna Park and Chenoa.  She and Delmar were farmers and owners of Streid's Eggs. Dorothy was a member of Chenoa United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Chenoa Arts and Travel and Chenoa VFW Auxiliary.  She served on the Chenoa School Board and was a past President.
