Obituary

Dorothy Ann Trainor, 86, Wing, died at 3:09 pm Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in Pleasant Ridge Twp. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, October 1, 2016 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Fairbury with Fr. Scott Archer officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Twp. Cemetery, rural Wing. Visitation will be 3:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with a rosary to be recited at 2:15pm. The family suggests memorials be given to your local food pantry or to the South East Livingston County Ambulance Service. Dorothy was born August 8, 1930 in Streator, IL the daughter of Dallas and Dorothy Fornero Stahly. She married John "Jack" Trainor on July 14, 1951 in Streator. He survives in Wing. Other survivors include their children, Mike (Teresa) Trainor, Chatsworth, Pat (Eric) Rieger, Lynn (Mike) Reis, Ann (Cal) Zimmerman, all of Forrest, Bob (LuAnn) Trainor, Fairbury, twenty grandchildren, Jeff (Jill) Rieger, Mike Rieger, Paul (Sarah) Trainor, Erica (Jay) Bucy, Ashley (Charlie) Rogucki, Mark (Kara) Trainor, David (Maria) Trainor, John Zimmerman, Patrick (Melissa) Trainor, Joe (Lindsey) Trainor, Greg (Faith) Trainor, Andrew (Adrienne) Trainor, Abby (Jeremy) Dockemeyer, Katie (Lance) Golliday, Micah (Brandon) Maffett, J.T. (Miranda) Zimmerman, Nicole (Jake) Thomas, Jay Trainor, Jodi Reis, Connor Reis, thirty one great grandchildren, two brothers, Bob (Marge) Stahly, Streator, Larry (Dorothy) Kacinski, Buncombe and one sister, Phyllis Metcalf, Edwardsville. She is preceded in death by her parents, step father, Bob Kacinski, one sister, Roberta Conley, one great grandson, Ethan Trainor and two brothers in law, Ed Conley and George Metcalf. Dorothy was a 1948 graduate of Streator High School. She was a homemaker who formerly was employed as a telephone operator and had worked at Trainor Grain for twenty years. She was a member of St. James Mission, Forrest, belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society, served on various committees within the church and taught Sunday School for many years. After St. James Mission closed she transferred her church membership to St. Andrew Catholic Church, Fairbury. She enjoyed playing Bridge, Rummy and socializing with her coffee ladies. Dorothy's love for her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was unconditional. She always thought of them as a blessing from above. They brought a smile to her face, a warm feeling to her heart, and joy to her soul.
