Dorothy Ann Yoder, 82, of Forrest, died at 1:45 pm Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Piper City Rehab and Living Center, Piper City.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Forrest United Methodist Church, Forrest with Pastor Roosevelt Smith officiating. Burial will take place in Strawn Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, September 2, 2016 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury; and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church in Forrest. The family suggests memorials be directed to Forrest United Methodist Church or American Diabetes Association.
Mrs. Yoder was born January 6, 1934 in Fairbury, IL; the daughter of Harry and Cynthia (Busby) Kirchner. She married Glen Yoder in Fairbury. He died on August 23, 1984. Her Parents also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Mark (Tina) Yoder of Strawn; one grandson, Robert Yoder, also of Strawn; and one brother, Glen "Dick" Kirchner of Fairbury.
Dorothy graduated from Mennonite School of Nursing in Normal and began her career as a nurse at Fairbury Hospital and later BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal. She was a member of the Forrest United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women and Forrest American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She was proud of her grandson and enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
