Obituary
Fairbury – Duane Stanley Steidinger, 82, of Fairbury, passed away at 9:52am, May 28, 2014 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Cremation has been accorded.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Pastor Spencer Homan will be officiating.
Memorials may be made to Fairbury Presbyterian Church or Fairview Haven Retirement Community.
Duane was born April 23, 1932 in Fairbury the son of Nathan John and Lillian Reany Steidinger. They preceded him in death.
He is survived by several cousins including Mary Streitmatter of Fairbury, who cared for him along with his special friend, Becky Whitfill also of Fairbury.
Duane graduated from University of Illinois with a bachelor's in Physics and then received his master's degree in Mathematics.
Duane did freelance computer programming.
He was a very serious tennis player and also enjoyed other sports. He enjoyed eating at McDonald's Family Restaurant, visiting, and having company. He also enjoyed working on his computer and watching movies.
