Obituary
E. Gwen Craig, 90, of Fairbury passed away at 2:35 am, Monday June 15, 2009 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.
Her funeral service will be 2 pm, Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Thursday also at the memorial home in Fairbury.
Gwen was born November 5, 1918 in Fairbury the daughter of William and Margaret (Williams) Householder. She married Sterling Craig on October 26, 1941 in Fairbury. He passed away on November 25, 2001.
Survivors include; one daughter; Carol (Ross) Joiner, Fairbury, five grandchildren; Nicole Joiner, Nathan Joiner, Jennifer Allison, Rob Craig, Stephen Craig and one great granddaughter; Samantha.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to Alzheimer's Association or First Baptist Church of Fairbury.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, one sister and one son; Robert Craig.
During WWII Gwen assisted in airplane production in Kansas City, MO. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairbury where she was an active member. She volunteered for numerous activities in her church as well as her community.
