Obituary
Colfax – Edith Jewell Billingsley, 95, of Colfax, passed away at 7:09 a.m. on July 18, 2008 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax.
Funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Rev. Diane Yentes and Wendell Wardell will be officiating. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery.
Edith was born March 3, 1913 in Mt. Hermon, KY the daughter of Robert and Iva Combs Hunt. They preceded her in death.
She married Denver Chester Billingsley on April 14, 1934 in Glasgow, KY. He died March 22, 1985.
Surviving are one son James (Diane) Billingsley of Colfax; five grandchildren, Matthew Billingsley of Colfax, Curtis (Trina) Billingsley of Lexington, Leisa (Chris) Summers of Park City, KY, Teresa (Ron) Spratt of Chanhassen, MN, and Rebecca (Rick) Wahls of Powell, OH; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Brent, and Blake London, Ryan, Lauren, Zachary, and Sydney Billingsley, Hayley, Caitlyn, and Austin Spratt, J.T. and Aidan Wahls; one great-great grandson, Aidan Coates; one brother William (Elizabeth) Hunt of Louisville, KY; daughter-in-law, Karen Billingsley-Schulz and brother-in-law, Zeldon Pace; and several nieces and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by one daughter Cletra Thomas and one son Troy Billingsley, two brothers and four sisters and a brother and sister in infancy.
Edith attended the Colfax United Methodist Church and was a member of Dover Baptist Church in Mt. Hermon, KY.
She was a member of the United Methodist Women , and NTO.
The family suggest that memorials may be made to the Colfax United Methodist Church Elevator Fund.
