Colfax – Edna Sinclair, 86, of Colfax passed away at 9:50pm, September 22, 2010 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Funeral will be held at 10:00am Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Colfax United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.
Visitation will be held from 5-7:00pm on Friday, September 24, 2010 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax.
Edna was born January 25, 1924 in Bloomington the daughter of Oscar and Delia Ross. She married Duane C. Sinclair on November 21, 1943 in Bloomington. He died November 5, 1984 in Colfax.
Surviving are two sons, Steve (Susan) of Arlington, TX and Gary of Normal; two grandchildren, Spencer (Michelle) and Tyler Sinclair.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and their wives.
Edna owned and operated Farmer's Oil and Supply Company with her husband. She also was the secretary to the International Speakers Platform Association for over 12 years.
While with the ISPA she enjoyed traveling all over to give speeches on many topics including Women in the Bible and Astrology.
She was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church where was currently a Sunday school teacher and a member of the United Methodist Women.
She held memberships with the American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and Daughters of the American Revolution, International Speakers Platform Association, and the Mary Sunshine Group.
Edna was a pillar of the Colfax community. She never said no to her community or her church. She was a fiercely independent woman who always thought she was right.
Thou Edna did not have any biological sisters; she inspired deep and lasting friendships with many of her women friends.
