Cooksville – Edwin O. Eades, 75, of Cooksville, passed away at  9:14pm, October 6, 2023, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

Cremation has been accorded.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Pastor Wendell Wardell will be officiating.

A visitation will be held from  12:00pm-2:00pm on Saturday, also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cooksville Fire Department or LeRoy Ambulance Service.

Ed was born December 19, 1947, in Bloomington, the son of Dale T. and Betty (Stern) Eades. He married his 3rd grade sweetheart Connie Jo Manahan on May 11, 1968. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Damon (Cathy) Eades of Terre Haute, IN, Jennifer (Mustafa) Sabree of Kansas City, MO, Jaime (Andy) Schneider of New Athens, and Andrew (Alexandra) Eades of Summit, WI; grandchildren, Ali Jordan (Mariah) Sabree, Payton Eades, Trevor Conway, Aric Eades, Jered Conway, his favorite princess, Hannah Eades, Kadin Sabree, Vincent Eades, and Anthony Eades; great-grandchildren, Amir and Jordan Sabree; and sister, Deborah Riddle of LeRoy.

Ed worked for more than 30 years in the animal health industry. He retired from ConAgra.

He was a member of the Union Church of Cooksville and a trustee for the Octavia Fire Department.

Ed was an avid Cardinal and Bear Fan. He was the biggest fan to his grandchildren in their many activities.

Ed was a wonderful husband, dad, and PawPaw. He loved his family deeply.
