LeRoy – Eileen C. Grotbo, 68, of LeRoy passed away with her family by her side at 11:04pm, October 31, 2012 at her residence.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am, Monday November 5, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church of Merna, Bloomington. Fr. Jerry Ward will be officiating. Burial will be in Dawson Cemetery, Ellsworth.
Visitation will be held from 9-11:00am on Monday also at the church.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St. Labre Indian Mission School, Ashland, MT.
Mrs. Grotbo was born April 1, 1944 in Schenectady, NY the daughter of Karl and May Przybylowicz Nass.
She married Roland Grotbo on August 7, 1971 in Schenectady, NY. He survives in LeRoy.
Also surviving are one daughter, Susan Grotbo of San Francisco, CA; three sons Chris (Paula) Grotbo of LeRoy, Andy (Karen) Grotbo, and Scott (Becky) Grotbo both of Bloomington; grandchildren, Anna, Julia, and baby boy due in November; step-grandchildren, Amber, Brooklynn and Noah.
Mrs. Grotbo graduated with her BA from Buffalo State University of New York and the received her MA in Education from Eastern Michigan University.
She taught in Ypsilanti, MI, Department of Defense in Okinawa and last was a teacher in the Bloomington school district.
Mrs. Grotbo was a Master Gardner which led her to be involved with the Festival of Trees and a 4H Judge in the floral exhibits. She also enjoyed helping with clothing drives for the St. Labre Indian Mission School.
