Normal – Eldon G. Bayles, 80, of Normal, passed away at 4:36am, July 7, 2019, at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

His funeral will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax.

Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax, where military honors will be performed.

Visitation will be held from 3-7:00pm, Tuesday, July 9, 2019, also at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Veteran's Administration ( www.va.gov ) or the McLean County Fair, My Ag Program.

Eldon was born November 5, 1938, in Stanford the son of Glenn and Edith Mae Carney Bayles.

He married Patricia Miller on February 11, 1961. She survives.

Also surviving are his daughter, Carla (John Walton) Taylor of Colfax ; son, Doug (Bernadette) Bayles of Owasso, OK; grandchildren, Treavor Taylor, Tristin Ramirez, and Brittney Bayles; brother, Ronald (Darla) Bayles of Colfax; and sisters, Gleneda Hayes of Aurora, CO and Sandra Warren of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Eldon is a veteran of the United States Army.

He retired after 35 years with Central Illinois Trucking.

Eldon was an avid fan of all sports, but had a true love and passion for working in the cattle barn.
