Eleanor L. Honegger, 97, Fairbury, died at 10:43 pm Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Her funeral will be at 10:00 am Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest with Ministers of the Church officiating. Burial will be in the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Saturday at the church.  The family suggests memorials be given to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Eleanor was born August 20, 1928 in Indiana the daughter of Samuel and Ruth Schlipf Walter.  She married Wayne M. Honegger on March 12, 1950 in Fairbury, IL.  He preceded her in death on April 24, 2018.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane (Gary) Brown, Kay (Chris) Steffen, both of Fairbury, two sons, Paul (Amy) Honegger, Gregg (Michelle) Honegger, both of Forrest, 16 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Colleen Walter and Nancy Bachtold, both of Fairbury.

She is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 grandson, Brad Brown.

Eleanor was a homemaker who loved her faith and visits with her children and grandchildren.

She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest.
