Obituary
Eleanor Bernice Winter, 87, of Fairbury died at 4:53 pm Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Colfax with the Rev. Connie Frase officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. The family suggests the memorials be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Colfax or to Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.
Eleanor was born February 6, 1921 in Wenona, IL the daughter of Bernard and Florence Flesburg Crone. She married James H. Winter on January 15, 1949 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Wenona. He survives in Fairbury.
Also surviving is one son, Robert (Marcia) Winter, Taylor Ridge, IL, one daughter, Anita (Curtis) Addicks, Bloomington, IL, one sister, Viola Nelson, Duluth, MN, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Eleanor graduated Wenona High School and received her teacher's certificate at Illinois State University. She taught elementary school in Normal and Sibley and later helped her husband farm near Colfax. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Colfax.
Eleanor will be remembered by her family, church and friends as a very loving and caring person.
