Obituary

Fairbury: Elizabeth Pearl Freed, 91, a resident of Heritage Manor, Gibson City and formerly of Fairbury, IL died 1:10 am Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Heritage Manor, Gibson City.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with the Rev. Charles McDonald officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be 12:30 to 2:00pm Saturday at the memorial home.

Mrs. Freed was born October 15, 1915 at White County, IN. The daughter of Phillip and Caroline Weisser Streib. She married C. Elmo Freed November 25, 1944 at Palmyra, MO. He died June 12, 1979.

Surviving are 5 nephews: Roger (Judy) Meiss, Richard (Janet) Meiss, both of Sibley, Curtis (Janice) Meiss, Fairbury, Donald Reel, Phoenix, AZ, and Ivan (Evelyn) Reel, Remington, IN. Also surviving is 1 niece, Carolyn (Gordon) Price, Wolcott, IN.

She is preceded in death by 1 brother, 2 sisters, 1 nephew & 2 great nephews.

Mrs. Freed was a homemaker, a member of the Cullom United Methodist Church and the 1st United Methodist Church, Fairbury. She belonged to the Friendship Circle of Cullom, the Kempton American Legion auxiliary, Kempton H.E.A., the Fairbury Temple Community Club and the Saunemin Peace Meals.

The family suggests memorials be given to the Cullom United Methodist Church or the 1st United Methodist Church of Fairbury.
