Ellen M. "Ellie" Retter, 72, Fairbury, died at 4:43 am Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Private inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 10:45 am Saturday at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be given to Fairview Haven Retirement Community or Trinity Lutheran Church, both of Fairbury.

Ellen was born April 10, 1943 in Bloomington, IL the daughter of Walter H. and Anna Marie Landau Retter.

Surviving are 2 brothers, Louis W. (Betty) Retter, Fairbury, Ray O. (Lanni) Retter, Goshen, IN and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Ellen was a 1961 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School. She operated a children's daycare in her home for several years. She later worked in the dietary and laundry departments at Fairview Haven Retirement Community until her retirement in 2014. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury.
