Obituary
Elmer Duane Meints, 73, of Fairbury died at 11:45am Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday also at the memorial home. Inurnment will take place at the South Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury at a later date. The family suggests memorials be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
Elmer was born January 12, 1936 in Weston, IL, the son of Violet Meints. He married Sharolyn JoAnne Davis on October 2, 1954 in Fairbury. She died on April 23, 2006.
Surviving are two sons, Keith Meints, Fairbury, Kevin Meints, Whitsett, NC, one ½ brother, David Newton, Bureau, IL, fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one brother, one son and one daughter.
Elmer was a hard working man, doing jobs in the Fairbury and surrounding area that others couldn't or wouldn't do. Most recently he had attended the Apostolic Christian Church.
