Elna M. Nussbaum, 95 of Fairbury, passed away at 1:09 am, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Apostolic Christian Church of Fairbury with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be in Fairbury Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Friday, December 6, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9 to 9:45 am Saturday at the church. The family suggests memorials be directed to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Mrs. Nussbaum was born July 21, 1918 in Dunlap, IL the daughter of Paul and Edna (Claudin) Wiegand. She married Willis R. Nussbaum on December 11, 1949 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2000.

Survivors include her four children; Alan (Laura) Nussbaum of Bloomington; Jill (John) Schlipf of Gridley; Jan Nussbaum of Normal; Rollin Nussbaum of Auburn, WA; one brother, Richard (Betty) Wiegand of Fairbury; fourteen grandchildren, Shawn (Carrie) Nussbaum, Erika Nussbaum, April Nussbaum, Bryan (Jessica) Nussbaum, Amber (Andy) Wallace, Jason (Jamie) Schlipf, Jaron (Julie) Schlipf, Jodie Schlipf, Jamie Schlipf, Drew (Billie) Nussbaum, Troy Nussbaum, Cory Nussbaum, Jeni Nussbaum, Addie (Wes) Kostellic and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and one sister.

Elna graduated from Dunlap High School and received her teaching degree from Illinois State Normal University. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Fairbury. She enjoyed quilting, playing scrabble and making music on her Harmonica. She loved spending time with her family and friends who will miss her deeply.
