Chenoa - Elnor Pease Stevenson, age 81, passed into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Goldwater Care, Pontiac.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 6 – 8 pm at the Chenoa Baptist Church, 513 Lincoln Street, Chenoa. Flowers are welcome, but memorial donations may be made in her memory to Chenoa Baptist Church.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10 am on Friday, March 29, at Chenoa Baptist Church, Chenoa. The family will receive friends and loved ones at the church beginning at 9 am.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.

Elnor was born in Peoria, Illinois to the late Glen O. and Ruth Smith Pease. She grew up in Eureka and later attended Olivet Nazarene College where she earned a degree in music. While at Olivet, Elnor met and married the late Leon Stevenson. They were married 27 years and had two daughters together. Elnor is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Hope Elizabeth Malingowski and her sister, Janet Pease Griffith.

Elnor was a mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading, puzzles, and watching westerns on TV. She was passionate about music and found great joy in directing choirs at various churches she attended. She was also a great lover of Jesus and served Him not only through music ministry but also as a Sunday school teacher, Bible study leader, and volunteer at a crisis pregnancy center.

Elnor's memory will be forever cherished by her daughters, Maralee (Rich) Malingowski of South Fayette, PA; and Teresa (Troy) Cottrell of Chenoa; grandchildren, Jenna, Ben, Aaron, Abbie, and Nathan; nieces, Debbie Hinze and Dawn Griffith, along with many friends throughout the years.
