Emma J. Yoder, 78, of Forrest passed away at 8:48 pm, Saturday, October 3, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Livingston County on Friday, October 2, 2009.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be 10 am, Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Church of Christ, Fairbury with Jerry Good officiating. Inurnment will follow in Strawn Cemetery, Strawn. Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm, Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
Emma was born October 23, 1930 in Strawn the daughter of Fred and Helen (Stanford) Adam. She was a graduate of Strawn H.S. and employed by Central Soya in Gibson City and Indianapolis, IN. for many years.
Survivors include; two sons; Randel (Mary) Yoder, Strawn and Steve Yoder, Lake of the Ozarks, MO, one sister; Ruth Wessels, Fairbury, one granddaughter; Heather (Lance) Dehm, Chatworth, one grandson; Adam Yoder, California, and one great granddaughter; Summer Nicole Dehm, Chatsworth.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister; Mary Adam.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, ICU or SELCAS, Fairbury.
Emma attended Church of Christ, Fairbury and was very active in Governor Thomas Ford Chapter of N.S.D.A.R. where she served as Vice Regent and Public Relations Chairperson. She had a special bond and enjoyed spending time with her great granddaughter, Summer who will miss her "Grandma" Emmy greatly.
