Ervin V. Kaisner, 87, Bloomington, died at 7:45 pm Friday, March 25, 2011 at his residence in Bloomington..
Mr. Kaisner was born April 24, 1923 in Fairbury, IL the son of John R. and Bertha Purdlewitz Kaisner.
Ervin is survived by his two daughters, Deborah (David) Martin, Pekin; Diane (Jerry) Reger, Dunlap; four grandchildren, Michelle Kimble, LaVergne, TN, Cory (Tisha) Kimble, Varna, Anthony (Amy) Martin, Pekin; Andrea Kimble, Lacon; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Abagail, Morgan and Adalynn and two step great grandchildren, Sierra and Evan.
He was formally married to Edythe (Trott) Kaisner of Pekin and Arlis (Maubach) Kaisner of Forrest. They both survive.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Kaisner served in the United States Marine Corp during WWII obtaining the rank of Sergeant. On February 24, 1945 he was wounded in action while serving at Iwo Jima and received the Purple Heart medal. He owned and operated Kaisner's Barber Shop in Bartonville and later retired as a foreman for the Illinois Department of Transportation highway maintenance division in Peoria County on December 31, 1989. He served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Greater Peoria Bowling Association (1964-1975).
A private family service will be held at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
Entombment will be held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
The family request that memorial contributions to be sent to the OSF Hospice of Bloomington or the Children's Miracle Network in lieu of flowers.
