Chenoa – Esther Marie Estes, 84, a resident of Chenoa for 60 years, passed away at 12:30am, March 7, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Funeral will be held at 11:00am, Monday, March 10, 2014 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa. Pastor Dan Patterson will be officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Presbyterian Church of Chenoa.
Esther was born July 7, 1929 in Bloomington the daughter of Blackburn and Mary Lovell Huff.
She has been married to Lewis
Raymond Estes for 64 wonderful years. They were married on August 13, 1949 in Chicago. He survives.
Also surviving are her daughter, Melissa (Michael) Hollinshead of Springfield; step-son, Dennis (Sue) Estes of Danvers; grandchildren, Jocelyn (Mitchell) Motley of Seattle, WA, Bailey, Dugan, and Chelsea Hollinshead all of Springfield, Kelli Estes of FL; step-grandchild, Tamira (Larry) Masching of Pontiac; great-grandchildren, Shelby and Alexis; step-great-grandchild, Raeanne Masching; sisters, Erma Rodameyer of Highland and Sandra Huff of TX; brothers, Melvin (Bev) Huff of Peoria, James Huff of Bloomington, and Blackburn (Carly) Huff of Kenosha, WI.
She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Estes, parents, and two sisters.
Esther worked at the Chenoa IGA in the meat and produce departments and then then was a CNA at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Chenoa.
Esther enjoyed dancing and camping for 17 years after retirement. Her and her husband visited 38 states in their travels.
