Obituary
Ethel "Lee" Norris, 83, Fairbury, formerly of Melbourne, FL, died at 5:05 am Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.
A private entombment will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington with the Rev. Jerry Goode officiating. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Norris was born August 6, 1928 in Caraway, Arkansas the daughter of Charles and Anna Payton Baser. She married Elwin "Al" Norris on November 30, 1946 in Highland Park, MI. He died on January 27, 2010.
Surviving are her children, Gary (Audrey) Norris, Maribeth (Tom) Mies, both of Fairbury, Roger Norris, Canton, Georgia, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a sister, Maxine (Neil) Hill, Moshein, Tennessee.
She is preceded in death by one brother, one sister and a grandson, Charles Ward.
Mrs. Norris was a graduate of Western High School, Detroit, MI and later worked as a fulfillment clerk at Hitchcock Publishing, Wheaton, IL. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
Lee loved to travel, was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also dedicated many hours to teaching Sunday school and working in benevolence for her church.
The family suggests memorials be directed to the Fairview Haven Nursing Home or the OSF Hospice. Lee's family would also like to thank the staff at Fairview Haven Nursing Home and OSF Hospice for their loving care.
