Gridley: Ethel K. Otto, 85 of Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan formerly of rural Gridley, died at 3:00 pm, Friday, August 24, 2007 at St. James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Chenoa with Pastor Edward Hudelson officiating. Interment will take place in Gridley Cemetery, Gridley, IL.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 pm, Monday, August 27, 2007 at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Mrs. Otto was born December 27, 1921 in rural Flanagan, a daughter to Peter J. and Phoebie (Barth) Vissering. She married Herschel O. Otto June 16, 1940 in Flanagan. He passed away August 8, 1988.
Surviving are: son: Myron (Elaine) Otto, rural Gridley, daughter: Carolyn Kemp, Pontiac,
son: Merlyn (Kathie) Otto, Tampa, FL, one sister: Evelyn Rients, Flanagan, four grandchildren: Kara (Brian) Nelson, Normal, Kevin (Jessica) Kemp, Gilbert, AZ; Elizabeth (Kevin) Haskins, Plainfield, Rachel Otto, Chicago and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Chenoa; Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan; and OSF Saint James-John Albrecht Medical Center Foundation.
Ethel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Chenoa. She enjoyed spending time with those who knew and loved her.
